| Description: Typical applications: |
Exceedingly high resis-tance to abrasion. These electrodes are alloyed with high pro-portions of niobium, tungsten, molybdenum, chromium as well as containing vanadium and carbon. They may be used in tempera-tures up to 800°C. Sinter crushers, Blast furnace ventilator pla-tes, Fan blades, Blast furnace bells, Hoppers, Cement klinker plates. |
For direct applications to austenitic manganese steel. Parts subject to extreme abrasion and impact. Relief cracks are normal. Dredge bucket lips, Pump linings, Crusher jaws, Shovel and dragline buckets, Swing hammers, Grizzly bear bars, Ball mill liners |
This alloy is used for very severe abrasion conditions where impact is not high. Develops a high polish in service. Relief cracks are normal. Direct deposit onto grey cast iron. Pan scraper blades, Augers and forcers, Agricultural implements, Suction dredge blades, Pump casings, Impeller blades, Feeder screws |
Very high impact resistance combined with excellent abrasion resistance. For maximum impact resistance use one run only. Wear resisting properties maintained up to 550°C. Relief cracks are normal. Swing hammers, Fixed blow bars, Grizzlies, Crusher jaws Important: Don’t apply onto manganese-steel ! |

| How to use: | Recommended welding currents for different electrode diameters should be taken as a general guide. Higher currents can be used but will result in greater dilution between the deposit and the parent metal. The best results are achieved by holding the electrode perpendicular to the workpiece and employing an arc length of approximately 2/3 of the electrode diameter. As the thickness of the deposit increases, it may exhibit surface stress relief cracks which do not penetrate into the base metal and are in fact a desirable feature on this type of extremely hard wearing alloy. Optimum wear resistance depends on achieving a sound deposit with the minimum of base metal dilution. Hardfacing tubular electrodes are designed to operate at low current so do not use excessive amperage, weld briskly and do not dwell too long in one position. Always deposit at least 5 mm of hardfacing to minimize dilution effects. |

The data shown above is based on long lasting experience in the manufacturing and use of wear resistant materials. As there are many unknown possible parameters and conditions in practice, which may limit standard performance, it is requested that the user runs practical tests. Except as expressly stated, HARDFLEX 's liability, expressed or implied, is limited to the published selling price of our defective item.
